The jury has nearly reached a verdict in the trial against Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Us Weekly confirmed on Tuesday, July 1, that the jury has come to a decision on four out of the five charges against Diddy, 55. Both the defense and prosecution have asked the jury to continue to deliberate on the charge of racketeering conspiracy. (Diddy has pleaded not guilty to all charges and has denied all of the allegations against him.)
The prosecution suggested Judge Arun Subramanian invoke an Allen charge, which is supplemental instruction given when a jury is unable to reach a unanimous verdict.
The defense team did not want Subramanian to allow the Allen charge because the jury had so far been efficient. Subramanian ultimately didn’t issue the charge but told the jury, “I ask at this time that you keep deliberating.”
The jury then sent another note saying they would continue deliberations on Wednesday, July 2, and the judge dismissed them for the day.
The jury entered their second day of deliberations on Tuesday. During their discussion, they requested transcripts of portions of Cassie’s testimony. Cassie, 38, previously took the stand to speak about her alleged experiences with Diddy throughout their relationship.
The jury specifically wanted Cassie’s statements about the 2016 incident at the InterContinental hotel where surveillance footage showed Diddy assaulting her in the hallway. The attorneys ultimately agreed to provide the singer’s testimony from the days leading up to and following the assault. Subramanian also approved the defense’s request to include an Instagram post Cassie shared after CNN published the hotel footage in May 2024.

Diddy was arrested in September 2024. The disgraced music mogul is charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution.
“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Diddy’s attorney Marc Agnifilo said in a statement following Diddy’s arrest. “He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
Diddy’s arrest came nearly one year after Cassie (full name Casandra Ventura) filed a lawsuit against him accusing him of sexual and physical abuse throughout their relationship, which lasted off and on from 2007 to 2018. He denied her claims in a statement shared by his attorney.
“Mr. Combs vehemently denies these offensive and outrageous allegations,” Diddy’s lawyer Ben Brafman said in November 2023.
One day after the lawsuit was filed, Diddy and Cassie settled out of court. During her testimony, Cassie revealed that they settled for $20 million.
Diddy has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His four requests for bail were denied by Subramanian.
